What a bad investment!

With the development of the Chinese society,  many  houses are being  built these days. Although the price of Chinese housing is getting higher, a majority of people still choose to buy a house for better living or as an investment.

In China, nobody thinks the price of housing will go down. It seems that buying a house should be a good investment. You can rent your house or sell your house when the price of housing is increasing. At the end of last year, my husband and  I decided to invest in the housing market. After we have investigated and researched, we bought a condo near GuChun Park, which is located in the north of Shanghai. There are newly developed sites and the environment is very pleasuring. In fact, the price of new condo is not inexpensive, nearly 14000 Yuan per square foot, on the 24 floors. We bought the last one left because all others have been sold out that day and we had no chance to choose the floor of the condo.

The price of housing has gone up till last month when the government of China made some efforts to make control the price of housing. During this period, few people are willing to buy a house and the price of housing dropped. We cannot sell out right now. And we cannot rent it out because the condo is not completely built. At this time we still have a mortgage loan for the condo. What a bad investment!

Field Trip to the Art Gallery of Ontario

Yesterday, our LINC School arranged for us to visit the Art Gallery of Ontario. Although it was a chilly morning, my classmates and teacher met on the Southbound Platform of Sheppard Yonge Subway Station by 9:15 a.m.

The A.G.O is near the China Town of downtown. I took a lot of photos of the architecture of downtown as soon as I got off the subway. I think the building style of Toronto is similar to that of Shanghai, China.

There was a big art sculpture standing in the front of the A.G.O, we took group photo there. Then we entered into the A.G.O. It was a very spacious building.

We spent the two hours appreciating these collections of the A.G.O. There are too many masterpieces of artwork, such as photocopy, drawings, videos and sculptures and so on. My favorite collections are European galleries on 17th century. That reflects the history of European. When you enjoy those galleries, you have deep understanding the life on that time.

Answering the situation interview questions

How would you deal with a colleague at work with whom you seem to be unable to build a successful working relationship?

The situation happened in my last job. One day our boss assigned an important program for me and colleagues. We had to work overtime to assure the job would be completed within the deadline. My two colleagues were lazy and inefficient workers. They were reluctant to work overtime. I don't think we could finish the program on time.

I was not the team leader, but I tried to let them know we were one team. If we didn't complete the program on time, our boss would not be satisfied with us. Meanwhile, it's hurting  all the departments. Because we could not get the bonus for that month. After I communicated with them, they came to understood what I meant. So, they worked harder than before, and we worked overtime together. Eventually, we finished the job and our boss was proud of us.

Going To The Library

Yesterday afternoon, I went to the library. It's close to Fairview Shopping Centre. Firstly, I applied for a library card. I provided my maple leaf card and my address to librarian before I got the library card. Then I signed my name at the back of the card. Finally, the librarian, a pretty young girl, told me how to borrow and return books and DVDs.

There are so many books and DVDs in the library. Many students sit and read the books. Some of them look through the book on computers. As I am interested in fashion magazines, I borrowed about five books on the subject. Next week, I will return these magazines if I don’t want to renew those.

The library is not only a good place to gain knowledge but also a good place for entertainment. At the same time, you can get a lot of fun from it. In addition, you don't need to spend a lot of money on books.

Go To IKEA

Last weekend I felt better than before, my husband drove me to IKEA. It was my first time to go to outside by our own car in Toronto. We were exciting and a little of nervous. As a matter of fact, we lived near the IKEA. It takes only 15minutes to get there by car. Ridiculous, we forgot to take a map and got lost. Fortunately, we found the right way to IKEA quickly and then we found the scene of the street so beautiful such as the blue sky, the white cloud, the green trees and the neat path. The springs of Toronto is so pretty and I love it very much. After that, we went shopping in IKEA and bought a lot of daily necessities. That's a good day.

Job Fair Report

Yesterday I went to Job Fair to look for a job at Scarborough Civic Center. I have never forgotten the precious experience because of this is my first time to go to a Job Fair in Toronto.

On the yesterday morning I took the 9:40 TTC Bus Service 190, I happened to meet my teacher and classmate of LINC school at the bus. After 20 minutes we arrived at Scarborough Town Center and Our teacher showed us around the Job fair. There was a long line, we had to wait for the door open and the weather was so chilly. But we were all full of expectation. Maybe we can find a satisfied job. Otherwise it was a good chance to mock interview and practice English. I prepared some resume and looked for my interest position vacancy and then sent it to the employers of company. Besides I also applied for volunteers work about the Lawrance Festivals of July. After two hours, I left the Job fair and went shopping in the Scarborough Town Center.

Allergic Rhinitis

I feel sick a couple of days ago. These day I get insomnia and I feel unhappy because I get allergic rhinitis. How could I solve insomnia and whom could  treat allergic rhinitis?  I hope someone can help me. Unfortunately, a lot of friends tell me that allergic rhinitis can not be treated. Yesterday I searched on the web for information about  the methods of treating of allergic rhinitis. I try to use traditional methods to reduce the symptomes of allergic rihintis.
This week I skipped school for 2 days and I missed some important courses because of my illness. Tomorrow our teacher will take us to a job fair in Scarobough. I think I should go there to practise interviewing skills and enjoy the job fair culture of Canada. Maybe there are many opportunities waiting for me.

To buying a new car or a second-hand car

Last week, my husband got a G2 driving licence. Therefore, we decided to buy a car. If we have a car, our life will become more convenient. We can take the car to go shopping or go to the supermarket instead of on foot. What kind of car should we buy? Should we choose a new car or a second-hand car? It's a difficult question for us. Maybe it depends on our budget for buying car. In Toronto, besides paying for the buy, you must also spend some money on insurance. So it's quite complicated I think.

The price of Canadian housing is rising these days

Vivian Huang

According to a recent survey, the price of Cadanian housing has rised from 5% to 29% from Jan to April. Besides some people who are willing to pay a large sum of money to buy new houses, most Canadians are not considering buying a new house within one year.

On the contrary, the government is still optimistic about the future of the housing market in Canada. One real estate agency said, "The price of housing can't  decrease in two years".

As a matter of fact, 0ne third of  people believe that the price of Canadian housing will increase continously. Many houses have been reserved by this year Because of many Chinese  bought a lot of  money to Canada to invest in  real estate.

Go Shopping

Yesterday was Sunday. I went to the Fairview Mall in the morning. It was a big shopping mall near the Don Mills. Because I just came to Canada and I have not got a G2 driving licence, I had to go there on foot. It was sunny yesterday. Good weather and good mood. It took 25 minutes to get to shopping mall from my home. Although shopping mall doest look like not very modern, I changed my mind as soon as I went in. It was a fabulous and modern shopping centre. It's easy to find all kinds of famous branded products, such as cosmetics, clothes, lab top, shoes and so on. I was very attracted to them. Finally I bought a pair of moisturizes, clarifying lotion (Clinique 3 step) which I used in it in China. I think that is suitable for my face.

New life, new start

Today is my second day to come to LINC school. Everything is interesting for me. New teacher, new classmates, new environment and new language lesson.

Our teacher, Joseph, comes from Singapore. He is a very nice and humorous. He taught us some grammar in the morning and explained some words and some sentences. He told me every student needs to do a presentation once a month. April 28 is my presentation day. I will spend my time thinking about the topic of my presentation. And I sincerely hope I can do well in class.

Our classmates come from all over the world, such as Europe, Asia, and so on. We introduced ourselves and communicated with each other in English. Many people were from China. We talked to each other in Chinese while we had lunch in the lunch room.

I have just been here for only one month. As a newcomer, I think that language is the biggest barrier for me. Fortunately, everyone at the LINC school is very nice and helpful. I believe my English will improve faster if I study hard.
